What is the South Davis PTO?

We are a volunteer, non-profit, and tax-exempt group that is committed to enriching the educational experience at South Davis Elementary and facilitating the cooperation between home and school. We are led by a group of parent volunteer officers and our members include parents/caregivers, teachers, and staff of South Davis.


Our mission is:

  • to promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff of South Davis
  • to help maximize the education of every South Davis student
  • to support teachers and enhance the classroom learning environment by providing volunteers, supplemental education materials and experiences, and financial assistance
  • to provide a non-biased forum to share information on issues that impact the students of South Davis

Our PTO uses membership fees, member donations, and fundraising events to support our mission and activities. These include supplemental educational materials and experiences in the classroom, fun family social events, teacher grants, principal's discretionary fund, teacher/staff appreciation days, and playground and building equipment.

 

We also support communication between school and family and provide a non-biased forum to share information through resources such as monthly PTO meetings, PTO web site, PTO Facebook group, and email updates. 

 

It is our belief that our children benefit the most when parents, teachers, and staff all work together as a team in a strong parent-teacher organization. Please join us and become a member!
